About Script School
How Our Story Began
“Everything I’ve written is personal. It’s the only way I know how to write.” – Charlie Kaufman
SCRIPT SCHOOL was set up in 2019 to give the opportunity to any individual from a wide range of diverse, multicultural backgrounds to grow their skills as story-tellers and screenwriters by learning from seasoned TV & Film professionals.
The concept of 'Everyone has a story' was designed to promote an ethos that anyone in the world is capable of exploring their creative side and hold the ability to turn their stories into a reality, which they may have never had the opportunity to undertake.
Whether it be adventures, relationships, life-events, joyous occasions, embarrassing situations, devastating moments.....everybody has a tale to tell and we aim to give our students the confidence they need to share their stories with the entire world.
As well as educating emerging new talent, SCRIPT SCHOOL aims to take pride in connecting people. Whether it be through one-to-one mentorship with professionals, meeting fellow students in online mentoring groups or visiting our campus in Hollywood and sitting with a new batch of creatives, we believe that the best work arrives from collaboration, and that's what we aim to promote.
"Scriptwriting is the toughest part of the whole racket…the least understood and the least noticed.” - Frank Capra
“Screenwriting is the most prized of all the cinematic arts. Actually, it isn’t, but it should be.” - Hugh Laurie
“Trust your own instinct. Your mistakes might as well be your own, instead of someone else’s." - Billy Wilder
“Being a good writer is 3% talent, 97% not being distracted by the internet.” - Unknown
"I am not a writer. I am a screenwriter, which is half a filmmaker. … But it is not an art form, because screenplays are not works of art. They are invitations to others to collaborate on a work of art." - Paul Schrader
